Boy Readers!

I love reading! It's almost an obsession with me like TV, video games, or chocolate are for some people. I easily loose sleep over a good book. In fact, as I write this, I'm listening to my first audiobook on my PC only because I finished book one in the Maze Runner series today and I don't have book two. I've requested it from interlibrary loan but I don't want to wait for it and I don't want to pay $10 for the Kindle version. But I found it free from the library in audio format. (Saving money just barely ranks higher than reading for me.) So, I'm "reading" even now as I write this!

Reading has been an important part of raising my boys, too. We have always had a wide variety of books at home. Reading together in the boys' room before bed has been our tradition for as long as I can remember. We are currently reading book 2 in The Chronicles of Narnia together now. And the library has always been one of our favorite places in each of the different towns we have lived in. Daniel is a beginning bilingual reader and Mikey and Ezra are "emergent" readers. They have recently gotten really into comics, especially Star Wars comics. Our library has a decent selection. I won't discourage them from reading comics because I remember my phase of loving comics when I was growing up and it didn't affect how much I love all genres of reading now as an adult.

Here's a cute picture of the boys at the library on Saturday reading together in Kids' Room.
